Show Your Stripes

Show Your Stripes

Nothing like brightening up those brutally cold winter days with colourful outfits!

IMG_5738

I saw this sweater on a couple of Instagram accounts that I follow, and I loved the huge pop of colour that came with it! Lucky for me, when I decided to finally give in and buy it, it was marked down BIG TIME!

IMG_5743

With so many colours in the sweater the accessory combinations are really endless! I decided to pair it with a bright blue pom pom hat, and added just that much more colour, with cherry red Hunter boots!

IMG_5744IMG_5742

I paired it with a metallic silver bubble jacket over top. This style has come back HUGE and I’m so happy about it! I grew up wearing Gap bubble jackets, so wearing this one reminds me so much of my childhood! I found this one on sale for only $25, it’s actually extremely warm too! It comes in a variety of colours but I decided to go with a colour that wasn’t too out there, but wasn’t just plain black like my everyday winter jacket.

IMG_5734

My fiancé likes to call it my space man jacket, and asks when I’m going to the moon whenever I wear it lol!

IMG_5735IMG_5736

The sweater comes in two different styles, I opted for the one with all over sparkles (because sparkles are life) that, and it was the cheapest of the styles. The exact style I’m wearing is available here.

IMG_5746

I picked up my jacket on the sale rack in stores, it’s available online, but is showing  for full price.

IMG_5745

Pom pom hats have been super popular the past few years, so you can get them just about anywhere . This particular style I loved because of the bright blue, it really brings out my eyes! This was on sale last season from Obsessions Fashions .

Let’s Go Pearls!

Let’s Go Pearls!

Don’t let the cold, snowy weather stop you from feeling fabulous. Don some pearls anyway you choose, and you will feel like you can run the world (LET’S GO PEARLS!)

IMG_5381

I’m so happy that pearls have made such a huge comeback in 2017/2018, they’re popping up everywhere (on everything!) To create this look I pulled together a few of my favourite pearl embellished items from my closet.

IMG_5382

The great thing I love about pearls is that you can wear them and pair them with just about anything, not to mention, they add elegance to any look!

IMG_5419

IMG_5646IMG_5651IMG_5652

Go out and buy yourself something with pearls, trust me, these aren’t your grandmother’s pearls, you won’t regret it!

Winter Warm-Up

Winter Warm-Up

Nothing says winter style like cozy knit sweaters, chunky knit scarves and pompom hats! Lucky for me, this look has it all!

IMG_4304

This look is perfect to layer under your winter coat and also looks cute just on its own!

From head to toe:

Hat: I picked mine up from a Kate Spade Outlet back in November, it was on sale for only $20! I wanted it so badly last year but couldn’t justify paying close to $80 for a hat. I was so happy to find it this year and for such a good deal!

IMG_4810

Click to see where it is currently available.

...and here in grey

Earrings: I’m such a fan of statement earrings, and these white pompom ones sure do make a huge statement. I call them my little snowball earrings. I picked them up on sale from H & M for $7 around Black Friday. H&M has a great selection of fun statement earrings for everyone’s style!

IMG_4659

Scarf: This pompom scarf instantly became my new favourite winter accessory! With so many colours in it, it goes with everything! The pom pom details are of course my absolute fave thing about it. I ordered it online from Old Navy on sale for approximately $12.00. It’s currently sold out online but you may have some luck in-store.

IMG_4306

Similar styles here for only $9.99!

Sweater: This sweater is from Reitman’s Winter collection last year.  I didn’t realize how much wear I would get out of it but I still can’t get enough. I got right before Christmas when it went on sale for 50% off and it made an appearance on the blog last year too! It’s super cozy and perfect if you want to layer a plaid shirt underneath or leave it on it’s own. I love how perfectly it matched with the pom pom hat and the scarf this time around and the cute little saying is a fun touch!

IMG_4297

Although this style is no longer sold, Reitmans has a ton of really cozy sweaters right now (and lots on sale too!)

H&M is also a great spot for knit sweaters with fun sayings on them (I love this one for the holidays!)

Hope everyone out there experiencing all the cold and snow is trying to stay warm!

Thanks for stopping in.

Lavender Fields Forever

Lavender Fields Forever

On a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon, my boyfriend and I were looking for something to do after heading back from brunch in Hamilton. His mom suggested we check out the beautiful lavender fields at Weir’s Lane Lavender & Apiary in Dundas, Ontario, and boy am I glad we did!

IMG_8302

There is really something so romantic about lavender, especially when you catch it in full bloom!

Dundas Ontario is known for it’s sprawling hiking trails and breathtaking waterfalls (Tew’s Falls and Webster’s Falls). You can now add Weir’s Lane Lavender farm to your list when you visit!

“Weir’s Lane Lavender & Apiary (WLL) is a lavender farm located 40 minutes west of Toronto in lovely West Flamborough (part of the city of Hamilton, not far from Dundas and Ancaster, at 223 Weirs Lane).  We started our lavender farm in 2010 and opened the farm store in 2011.  Currently, WLL grows more 5000 plants, has 200+ hazelnut trees, and maintains several bee hives. WLL provides farm tours where you will learn much about the growing of lavender and the keeping of bees.  Enjoy 10+ varieties of Lavendula Angustifolia (dubbed True or English) and Lavendula Intermedia (dubbed Lavandin or French) families. “- Weir’s Lane Lavender

I don’t think I’ve ever really given lavender much appreciation before seeing rows upon rows of both French and English lavender. When we went (back in the beginning of July) the lavender flowers were in full bloom and put on quite the show.  This was a good time to go and the colours were vibrant and all of the buds had bloomed at this point! When we pulled up to the farm we were directed by very friendly staff to the front field and were even shown the difference in look and smell of English and French lavender.  We visited around 3:00, and the farm closes to the public at 4. It was a little busy at this time but I think it was less busy then going earlier.

IMG_8303

IMG_8248

The views and the smells were absolutely breathtaking and made for one of the best backdrops I’ve ever had for my photographs!

IMG_8252

I could have sat here for hours just taking in all the beautiful sites and smells of the fragrant lavender.

IMG_8251IMG_8246IMG_8245IMG_8243

We then headed around back where there was more lavender and tons of opportunities for pictures! Opportunities are available for professional photographers to reserve time to  privately photograph without the public in the background for special events like engagement shoots, weddings. Please visit their website for details.

IMG_8242

I really wanted my outfit to pop in a sea of purple and be fresh and summery– I think it did just that. I went with a lemon printed dress and straw tote bag. Of course, it would’t be a summer outfit without a large straw hat. I just loved the saying on this hat and thought it was perfect for the occasion. I finished off the look with a pair of matching yellow sunglasses in keeping with the fresh look.

IMG_8241IMG_8239IMG_8238

Located inside is the shop. It sold everything from  lavender plants, dried lavender to essential oils and culinary lavender and honey (also harvested on site).

I am so glad we were introduced to this gem and will definitely be coming back next year for another beautiful visit!

Flamingos & Frills

Flamingos & Frills

Just for the (frill) of it, I decided to mix two of my favourite things: flamingos, and frills. The result…a super adorable girly look that can either be dressed up or dressed down!

IMG_9102IMG_9107IMG_9111IMG_9118

Yet another flamingo print top! I just can’t stop, and I couldn’t resist the urge to scoop this one up from J-Crew (similar styles available). I always size down in clothes from J-Crew as I find they are very generous with their sizes. Since this is a comfy tee, I went with an xs, it’s loose yet still perfectly fitting! The fuchsia pink watercolour design and flamingos that form into a heart sold me right away. Priced at just $20 on sale how could I say no? I paired the top with a matching flourscent pink button down cardigan also from J-Crew (old style, similar here) to really tie together the look! With it being so warm outside and cold inside the office, adding a light, matching cardigan is the ultimate summer dressing hack!

IMG_9106IMG_9115

These gingham print frilled trousers from Top Shop were also spotted on Miley Cyrus during the One Love Manchester benefit concert.

ariana-grande-miley-cyrus-manchester-170604-inline_425ed53ce7c83523d366a43559bcb47e.today-inline-large

I have received so many compliments on them and with their loose fit and high waist, they are comfortable for everyday wear! I managed to score them, and the matching jacket (not pictured) majorly on sale during a promotional period online at Hudson’s Bay I got both pieces for under $50 (regular $80+ each).

IMG_9105

What’s a flamingo themed outfit without matching shoes? I ordered these online from ASOS for half price ($27.00)! I love the little detail of the flamingo with the sparkly gold hearts! It has a small heel so they’re comfortable but also gives you that little added height.

IMG_9103IMG_9101

Since I had both a loud print pant and top, I went with minimal accessories. I opted for a marble cat-eye lens sunglass (Quay Australia). The cay-eye, a popular trend in the 50’s and 60’s has made a big comeback in a very big way, and I’m loving it! These are my favourite brand of sunglasses right now, and while I usually order them online from ASOS when they go on sale, I managed to score these from my local Winners for only $16 (they’re listed at $81 on ASOS.) In keeping with the bright pink theme, I went with a matching Kate Spade purse for an added pop of pink (because you can never have too much pink, ever!)

IMG_9109IMG_9108

And of course, the cutest little addition to my outfit- my new Iced Tea Press from David’s Tea. This style is sold out online, but you can call your local store to have them check the irstock! It’s currently marked down from $30.00 to $19.00 and I’m already obsessed!

Flamingo Friday

Flamingo Friday

Today’s edition of Flamingo Friday features all things Zara!

IMG_8341

IMG_8336

I had my eye on this bag for a while, it’s the perfect Clare V dupe without breaking the bank. I actually managed to scoop it up  before it sold out when the Zara summer sale started! It’s so spacious and goes with just about anything. The bag has a removable long shoulder strap, or it can be worn as a tote.

IMG_8337

My sister picked out these Zara shorts and t-shirt and shorts for my birthday (she knows my flamingo obsession really well!)

IMG_8338

IMG_8339

I mean, come on, a giant fuzzy flamingo, this shirt couldn’t be any more me if it tried!

IMG_8344

I finished off this look with a pair of pale pink mules (Winners- $29.00)- these have seriously become my go-to shoes, they go with everything and are the perfect height! I added a  pair of clear, cat-eye Quay Sunglasses (asos- $24- now sold out- also available here)

Thanks for visiting!

If Summer Were A Dress

If Summer Were A Dress

Summer has met it’s match. This dress embodies what summer style is all about: floral prints, white, breezy, flounce material. You’ll feel as carefree and effortless as you look in this adorable dress from H&M.

POP of pink!

POP of pink!

IMG_6672IMG_6673IMG_6674IMG_6675IMG_6677IMG_6678IMG_6680IMG_6681IMG_6684

The moment I laid eyes on this dress I knew I had to have it! This stunner provides the ultimate POP of pink! After seeing it come up online on Banana Republic,  I noticed it becoming increasingly popular among bloggers on Instagram. I waited a bit to purchase it, and I’m glad I did because I ended scoring it for more than half off the original price!

I’m such a huge fan of bold prints and bright colours so this dress fits in perfectly to my existing wardrobe. I kept the rest of the outfit simple by adding a camel coloured trend, nude pumps, a silver mini bag and silver watch and brooch.

Stepping into Spring (style)

Stepping into Spring (style)

Trying to step into Spring with some transitional pieces but Mother Nature has different plans for me.

IMG_2949

This striped knit dress from H&M took me right through the Fall and Winter seasons by simple adding a leather jacket over top. The stretch of the fabric makes this dress so comfortable and hugs in all the right places. I love the slits on the hem of the dress, they are also on the hem of the sleeves, I’m a huge fan in little details like those.

IMG_2955

I styled it this time around with a sleek black leather jacket, small black and gold embellished belt, black booties with gold-detailed heel and my new favourite saddle bag from Coach. The burgundy tone of the bag was the perfect compliment to the stripe pattern on the dress.

IMG_2942

Hopefully soon I’ll be packing away the leather jacket/boots and bringing out the sandals, flow-y summer fabrics and prints, but for now I’ll continue rocking looks like this one!

Clarins Open Spa Launch Party

Clarins Open Spa Launch Party

Earlier this week I was so fortunate to be able to attend the opening of Clarins Open Spa at the Hudson’s Bay Queen Street location in Toronto. This marked the official opening of the spa counter in North America, this is 1 of 3 locations, how cool is that?!

image

For just $35 you can enjoy a 30 minute luxury spa experience, it doesn’t get much better than that! An affordable luxury experience is right up my alley, I can’t wait until I can come in next for my next spa treatment!

The 30 minute Clarins Open spa offers 7 different treatments for both men and women. It starts with a consultation and they will even touch up your makeup at the end. This is great if you want to get a quick spa fix before work, or on your lunch so you can go back relaxed and looking better than ever!

imageimageimage

imageimage

These were some pics I snapped of the products used inside the existing spa room that Clarins had for longer spa sessions.

Let’s talk about the details of this amazing event! Upon arrival Dave’s guests were greeted with Clarins signature cocktails (cranberry and apple), or your choice of red or white wine. The cocktails were flowing all night along with a wide assortment of gourmet appetizers from Oliver and Bonacini. They were all so delectable and I couldn’t pass them up every time they came back with a platter!

image

image

image

My first time trying duck, it was delicious!

imageimage

The brie with grilled mushrooms was my absolute fave, I think I had about 4 of these!

imageimageimageimage

The macarons were beautiful and I couldn’t let them go without being photographed! We had bluberry, pistachio and hazelnut options!

I’m such a sucker for details so naturally the beautiful white flowers caught my attention right away! The red carpet was an amazing touch, and made us all feel so special to attending this exclusive event! We were introduced to the president of Clarins Canada, such a humble and beautiful lady, the national sales director and the director behind the Spa experience, another beautiful lady with a beautiful and bubbly personality! Eric Antoniotti visited all the way in from Paris. Eric is an international artistic and training directior and wait until I share some exciting news about my night with him below!

image

image

The marketing and PR team put on an amazing event and I had a great time getting to chat with them. I enjoyed the cocktail experience at this event as we were able to socialize a lot in a casual yet beautiful atmosphere surrounded by Clarins beauty products. Of course, I couldn’t do my thanks without mentioning the man of the hour (always), Dave Lackie. Dave has connected so many beautiful influencers, bloggers and beauty enthusiasts through the events and I couldn’t thank him enough! If you don’t already follow Dave and love beauty products, follow him for some awesome giveaways and beauty tips!

image

image

I was so lucky to have my makeup done by the one and only Eric! I can’t stress enough how talented this man is and how enthusiastic he is about Clarins and every detail that goes into each and every product. . In addition to beautifying  my eyes, Clarins has joined up with the Pur Projet which is committed to planting 10,000 trees for medical or cosmetic use. This will help revive the Kuntanawa culture of the Amazon

I was so amazed by the smokey eye look that Eric created for me using Clarins “The Essentials Eye Makeup Palette”. This palette is made with 10 beautiful shades, Eric used 4 to create my look!  What amazed me even more was how effortless Eric made this look, and even gave me pointers on how to recreate this look myself. I will definitely be picking up this palette, its absolutely everything and more!

Getting the ultimate VIP treatment!!

imageimage

The final reveal…

imageimageimage

I couldn’t believe how much this makeup made my eyes pop, I received so many compliments on it! I was already wearing Clarins lipstick in plum, I think it was a great pairing for the smokey eye look!

I really did not want to take this makeup off, it was too beautiful and I wanted to enjoy it forever! Now, I can only hope that I can recreate it myself, I think it would be a perfect makeup look for the holidays!

imageimageimageimageimageimage

The “Rosewood” shade is absolutely stunning and I think it’s what really made this look so fantastic!

I can’t wait to try out all these products and share my experience with you. I have already been using the Clarins lip oil for a few months and I am so impressed with it. I put it on at night before bed or before I put my lipstick on for a flawless application. All of these products are available at the Clarins beauty counter in Hudson’s Bay, Hudson’s Bay.com or Clarins.com

image

image

imageimageimageimageimageimage

I got so excited about sharing the products inside my gift bag that I forgot to post a picture of one of the items. I later realized when I was putting away my lovely new products that I had forgot one (and I think this one is going to be my favourite once the cold temperatures creep in and the dry skin comes out!)

image

Be sure to check out #ClarinsOpenSpa on Twitter and Instagram for a look at the evening through the eyes of all the lucky attendees!

Of course I couldn’t resist snapping some outfit pictures!

I got a lot of compliments on my bell-sleeve top. It’s from H&M, but I haven’t seen it available in stores for a while! The plunging neckline black jumper dress is also H&M! Layering blouses, or turtlenecks under dresses is HUGE in fashion this season so I decided to give it a try.  I finished my look with Franco Sarto leather boots and decided to add clip-on pom-poms to the side of my boots!

image

This top makes me feel like royalty!

Thanks so much for a beautiful evening with so many beautiful people!
